Whether yours is a new home or centuries old, a Scotvac system is the modern way to keep it clean. Easy to fit and simple to use, no home should to be without one. A Scotvac system will not only make the cleaning chores easier; it will also add value to your home.
So why is a Scotvac system so much better?
The Scotvac system is really powerful. The 5 inch diameter motor and fan creates a suction of at least 105" inches water gauge, so you can do a more thorough cleaning job. No more cables to trip over or untangle. The Scotvac system is ideal for the elderly or infirm as the lightweight hose glides across the floor behind you. Best of all, all of the dust you pick up is removed to the power unit.
The debris is collected in a large container, which will need emptying perhaps once every three months. You will no longer get the smell of re-circulated dust when you vacuum. If you fit an extra valve in the garage, you can use it to tidy up your workbench or clean the car.
Is it very difficult to operate?
No, using it is child's play. The lightweight hose is 30 feet / 10 mtrs long. Once you've plugged the hose in, the machine starts automatically. Walls, ceilings, floors, upholstery, mattresses and curtains can all be cleaned as you go round the house. The deluxe hose comes complete with a telescopic wand so you can adjust the height to suit yourself. It has an on/off switch. No more backache or bending. Cleaning has never been so easy. Imagine being able to clean the stairs from top to bottom, all in one go.
My child is Asthmatic, will a Scotvac system help?
Asthmatics and sufferers of respiratory ailments can benefit from a cleaner atmosphere. Asthma sufferers are one in eight. Because the dust and allergens are removed to outside the living area, your home becomes a cleaner, more hygienic environment. In modern draught proof homes, humidity is generally higher. Dust mites thrive in humid dwellings producing allergenic faecal pellets. Whilst some conventional vacuum cleaners may pick up these pellets, the small allergenic particles can pass through the filter, back into the room. Because a Scotvac system power unit is located away from your living room these particles are vented to the outside air.
If it's so powerful, it must be very noisy?
No. Because the power unit is away from the living areas, the noise is also. You can sing along to the radio if you wish, and you'll be able to hear the phone ring. You can vacuum around sleeping children, without disturbing them.
Is it difficult to fit and can I do it myself?
Fitting is simple, many Scotvac systems are installed by the homeowner. Whether your home is being built now or has been standing for centuries, the simple, push fit, pipe and fittings can speedily be installed by the average DIY person. An electric drill and basic hand tools are usually all that is required. An average installation is usually completed in one day.
A typical installation might consist of the Scotvac systems unit mounted in the garage. The ducting then could be run up into the loft and drop down into a cupboard on the landing and an inlet fitted there to serve the upstairs. From there the ducting might drop down into the cupboard under the stairs to serve another inlet with possibly another inlet in the kitchen. We supply complete instructions with every DIY kit. What happens if the tubing gets blocked?
As long as the ducting is installed and used according to our instructions, we guarantee, it will not get permanently blocked. Immediately behind each inlet valve is a trap. If the debris can clear this trap, it will safely complete its journey back to the power unit.
Something this good must be expensive?
Surprisingly not so, for the average home a complete system will usually cost about £650.00 including VAT. When you consider you'll only ever have to buy one Scotvac system don't you think it's a bargain.?
How often will I need to empty the machine?
The large dirt collector fitted to the bottom of the Scotvac system machine usually needs emptying every three to four months. However you will probably find that for the first few months you will need to empty more frequently, possibly every 3 weeks. This is because the more efficient Scotvac system's machine is picking up dirt that your old cleaner was leaving behind. Once this old dirt has gone emptying every 4 or 6 months is about the norm.
